  • Assembling a gripper using two servos and attaching it in the front of the robot. Calibrating the servo to define the exact range of operation.

Lesson Overview

In this activity, kids will make a pick and place robot which is an extension to the smartphone-controlled robot with a gripper in front of it. The procedure for making the complete robot requires the following steps:

  • Assembly of the basic robot (Might skip if already made the basic robot earlier)
  • Assembly of the gripper for picking and placing objects
  • Calibrating servo motors and motors for the proper functioning of the robot.

Lesson Outline

Introduction and demonstration of the robot - 10 minutes
Assembly of the robot - 25 minutes
  • Assembly of the basic robot (Might skip if already made the basic robot earlier)
